Mummun came to Mumbai and began her career through Zee TV’s show Hum Sab Baraati as Meethi. After that, she made her first Bollywood debut in the movie Mumbai Express in 2005. Thereafter, she has appeared in the movie ‘Holiday’ with co-star Dino Morea. In 2008, Munmun became a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah TV show. Before TMKOC television show, she has worked on several modelling projects and television ads.

Born on 28 September 1987, Munmun Dutta hails from Durgapur, West Bengal. She belongs to a Bengali Hindu family. She did her schooling from Oxford Model Senior Secondary School and received a Master’s degree in Arts from Kolkata. Munmun Dutta’s father and mother both are singers. Her father died on 11th June 2008 due to chronic illness. As a child, she dreamt of becoming a doctor but ended up becoming an actress.
